History: The Big Rumble on Jacques Cartier Bridge, Montreal, 1968

Here's a rare article in French, of the aftermath of a huge rumble on the Jacques Cartier bridge in Montreal.
For those of you who don't know the Jacques Cartier bridge is Montreal's equivalent of the bay bridge in San Francisco.
There had been a huge rumble on the bridge some time in late 1968, when 50 members of the Devils Disciples MC tried to stop 7 members of the Popeyes MC from crossing the bridge. In which a big fight ensued, stopping traffic on the bridge and leaving one Devils Disciple beaten to death, allegedly by a Popeye in self defence.
Afterword, in February of 1969, the police contacted all the major motorcycle clubs in the Montreal area to have a sit down and try to get things calmed down.
At the meeting the Popeyes vowed that they would not reconcile with anyone who had started a problem with them and not to cooperate with police or the media.
In the photo of the article, from left to right, are members from Satan's Choice MC, Death Riders MC, Hot Pistons MC, and Popeyes MC.
The Popeyes MC grew to be the largest French speaking 1% motorcycle club in Canada, and later patched over becoming the first ever Hells Angels in Canada!

１９６８年　モントリオールにてJUCQUES CARTIER BRIDGE （ジャック　カルティエ橋）であった大騒動。

これはモントリオールにある　ジャック　カルティエ橋で起こった大喧嘩の余波についてフランス語で書かれた珍しい記事です。
知らない方に説明しますと　モントリオールにおけるジャック　カルティエ橋は　サンフランシスコで言えばベイブリッジみたいなものなのです。
１９６８年の末、５０人のDEVILS DISCIPLES MCメンバーが７人のPOPEYES MCメンバーの橋の通行を妨げました。それが原因で大きな喧嘩に
勃発し、橋の通行は遮断され DEVILS DISCIPLES MCメンバーが撲殺されました。（真意の程は良く解らないが　POPEYES MCメンバーによる
正当防衛行為だったと言われています。）　その後１９６９年２月に警察が話し合いをする為と　さらにクラブ内の興奮を落ち着かせる為に
モントリオール地域の主要なモーターサイクルクラブに連絡を回しました。
話し合いにより　POPEYES MCは彼らにトラブルを持ち込んだ人間とは和解はしない、警察とマスコミには協力しない事を誓ったのです。
記事中　写真に写っている人物は左から SATAN’S CHOICE MC, DEATH RIDERS MC,HOT PISTONS MC, とPOPEYES MCのメンバーです。
POPEYES MCはカナダで最大のフランス語を話す１％モーターサイクルクラブになり、そして後にPATCHINGをして、カナダで初のHELLS ANGELSに成りました。
